Welcome to the Winter 2008-2009 edition of LightWork! Since this issue comes out during the holiday season, what better time to discuss gifts? And we don't necessarily mean the kind you buy at a store... The Awakening The Gifts
We Give Ourselves Leap! into Forgiveness Christmas Presence Seasonal Recipe In the U.S., fruitcake has become synonymous with barely edible doorstops filled with fake-colored candied fruit. It wasn't always thus. This recipe began life as a banana cake, and it has morphed into a more natural fruitcake, which has become a holiday tradition in the Hawkesworth household. Yummy. |
Power Thoughts What I need can wait. I just can't forgive
that person. There isn't enough of
me to go around. Love is, above all, the gift of oneself. You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a
gift. That's why we call it the present. We all have different gifts and different ways of saying to the world
who we are. The world needs a sense of worth, and it will achieve it only
by its people feeling they are worthwhile. Forgiveness of others is the second best gift you can give yourself.
Forgiveness of yourself is the best gift you can give yourself and the
world. So, forgive others and also, do not stop until you forgive yourself. What we are is God's gift to us; What we become is our gift to God. |
